As an avid painter since childhood, Adries Ramirez delves into the intricate relationship between femininity, the pressures of social media, and relentless scrutiny of the male gaze in her works, all while echoing past eras by using vintage imagery reimagined into a more modern surrealist concept. She draws inspiration from bygone eras, juxtaposing imagery of women from the 1920s to the 1960s with surrealist elements to create a dialogue between nostalgia and contemporary societal norms.

In her piece "Diplous" meaning “double” in Greek, she explores the interplay of decades past and present, seamlessly blending technicolor imagery with surrealist silhouettes. Through this work, she examines the complexities of hyper-femininity within a society dominated by social media and unrealistic beauty standards.

Adries Ramirez is in her second year at San Bernardino Valley College. She aims to complete her studies in the fall and transition to an art school. Her goals are to graduate with a Fine Arts degree and eventually obtain her MFA. Beyond her academic pursuits, Adries Ramirez is determined to contribute her art to galleries across the county and further her art career. Moreover, she aspires to utilize her art as a platform for empowering women to openly discuss their struggles with societal pressures. Through her artwork, Adries aims to foster meaningful dialogue and help support women navigating similar challenges.
