Meet Kathleen

Hello, everyone! I'm Kathleen Fenstermaker and I am excited to join Brea Gallery as the new Community Services Specialist. I have spent the past six years at the Huntington Beach Art Center, where I started as a Gallery Aide and worked my way up to the positions of Marketing Coordinator and Specialist. Before that, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Photography from California State University, Fullerton. As a new member of the Brea Gallery team, I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to the organization.

I have admired the Brea Gallery's exhibitions and programming for years, particularly the dedication to strong contemporary shows with a focus on providing support for local artists. As part of the team, I'm looking forward to bringing in new creative insights and strategic thinking, which I hope will add a fresh perspective to our work. I am passionate about showcasing a diverse range of artwork that connects with our patrons and creates meaningful and lasting connections with our audience and artists. I believe that art has immense power to bring people together and create transformative experiences for individuals and the community. My ultimate goal is to provide an environment that encourages creativity, meaningful conversations, and connection. So, let's work together to create something amazing!

When not at the Gallery, you can find me spending time with my family, daydreaming about future travel plans, and looking at pictures of food on the internet. In my purse, you will likely find my current read, an unused roll of 35mm film, half a roll of ritz crackers, and pens in every color. If you see me around I would love to know your most memorable arts experience or your favorite contemporary artist.
