My painting “Gallery Row” is amongst those artworks grouped into what I call “Urban Wilderness”. These artworks explore two narratives: the resilience of wildlife in urban landscapes, and my personal struggles as an artist in navigating the contemporary art world. I seek to shed light on some of the challenges faced by animals as they adapt to our ceaseless urbanization, emphasizing the tension between human-built spaces and the natural world. In Gallery Row I am also reflecting on my own sense of dis-placement, and some bewilderment, as I attempt to comprehend the seemingly innumerable art worlds of the 21st century.
