I was born in Tulsa, OK and grew up in a small town in Southern California. After high school, I attended The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, later transferring to CSU Sacramento where I received my BA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting. I moved to LA with my husband and daughter, where I worked as an art instructor for adults with developmental disabilities at the Exceptional Children's Foundation in San Pedro and continued painting in my home studio. In 2016, I had my second daughter and we moved to the rural town of Tehachapi in central CA. I had two more kids and continued to pursue my artistic practice. Last summer we moved down to Costa Mesa, CA. Here, I've set up my home studio and continue to paint and pursue opportunities to show my work.
Using a mix of pastels, acrylics and colored pencils, I work intuitvely to explore the intersection of the natural world and the human form. Through organic shapes and repetitive curving lines reminiscent of growth found in nature, I work through themes of transformation creating pieces that feel both familiar and otherwordly.
